Six Flowing Souls was a response to a specific location. An ancient burial site on the outskirts of Heysham, Morecambe Bay, Lancashire. Overlooking the coast, there is a large stone slab in which six stone graves have been cut so as to bury six priests or monks. These are represented in the sculpture as six flowing forms echoing the central form which closely resembles the burial site. The footprint of the sculpture recognises the flowing coastline that shapes Morecambe Bay.
